\n Nikki Glaser kicked off the Golden Globes with a hilarious monologue, where no person nor topic appeared to be off limits.\n <\/p>\n
\n Walking out to \u201cStyle\u201d by Taylor Swift, Glaser started her monologue by dryly joking that the glitzy annual award show is, \u201cwithout a doubt, the most important thing that\u2019s happening in the world right now.\u201d\n <\/p>\n
\n The comedian went on to quip about certain other newsy events, including referring to the Justice Department\u2019s release of the Jeffrey Epstein files<\/a>, the sale of Warner Bros. Discovery and the overhaul at CBS<\/a>.\n <\/p>\n \n Glaser pivoted to some of the A-listers in the room, joking about how George Clooney basically played himself in \u201cJay Kelly\u201d (a film about a seasoned actor coming to terms with his legacy). She also asked him a much more pressing question about whether he would be able to help troubleshoot her Nespresso machine for her, a product for which he is a spokesperson.\n <\/p>\n \n \u201cOne Battle After Another\u201d star Leonardo DiCaprio also wasn\u2019t safe from Glaser, who joked that he has made impressive achievements in his career all \u201cbefore your girlfriend turned 30.\u201d Glaser then apologized for making that joke, saying, \u201cI tried not to, but we don\u2019t know anything else about you, man!\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Glaser also took aim at some of the stars of this year\u2019s biggest blockbusters, including \u201cSinners\u201d star Michael B. Jordan. She joked about how \u201cawesome\u201d it was that he played twins on screen, later apologizing to his mother who was sitting right next to him.\n <\/p>\n \n She also poked fun at how long \u201cWicked: For Good\u201d was (the film clocks in at over 2 hours long). The film\u2019s star Ariana Grande nodded in agreement when the camera cut to her. Glaser then joked about how Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet is the \u201cfirst actor in history to have to put on muscle for a movie about ping pong.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n Glaser got serious for a moment, saying that it\u2019s a privilege to be up on that stage tonight, and that she\u2019s the host, \u201cbut I\u2019m honestly such a massive fan.\u201d\n <\/p>\n \n She went on to call out some of the evening\u2019s biggest stars, encouraging them to keep on doing what they\u2019re doing, including telling directors Guillermo del Toro and James Cameron to keep making \u201cweird monster sex movies,\u201d jokingly referring to their films \u201cFrankenstein\u201d and \u201cAvatar: Fire and Ash,\u201d respectively.\n <\/p>\n
