Amy Poehler won the inaugural Golden Globes podcast award for her talk show \u201cGood Hang,\u201d which features her freestyle riffs with fellow comedians, friends and celebs.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know that I am new to this game. I have great respect for this form,\u201d Poehler said in receiving the trophy. \u201cI have great respect for everyone I am nominated with. I am big fans of all of you \u2014 except for NPR: just a bunch of celebs phoning it in. Try harder,\u201d Poehler quipped.<\/p>\n
More from Variety<\/strong><\/p>\n Poehler added that her podcast is an attempt to make a \u201cvery rough and unkind world filled with a little bit more love and laughter, and laughing with people not at them.\u201d<\/p>\n At Sunday\u2019s 2026 Golden Globes, \u201cGood Hang With Amy Poehler\u201d beat out the other five podcasts nominated in the category<\/a>: \u201cArmchair Expert With Dax Shepard\u201d; Alex Cooper\u2019s \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d; \u201cSmartLess\u201d from Will Arnett, Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes; \u201cThe Mel Robbins Podcast\u201d; and NPR\u2019s \u201cUp First.\u201d<\/p>\n On the weekly \u201cGood Hang\u201d podcast, the \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d veteran hosts \u201ccelebrities and fun people\u201d to chat about their careers, friends, passions and (of course) what\u2019s \u201cbeen making them laugh.\u201d Per the show\u2019s description: \u201cThis podcast is not about trying to make you better or giving advice. Amy just wants to have a good time.\u201d<\/p>\n The most popular episodes of \u201cGood Hang With Amy Poehler\u201d have featured other \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d alums including Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Seth Meyers and Andy Samberg, as well as Aubrey Plaza (who was in \u201cParks and Recreation\u201d with Poehler). Other guests have included Ariana Grande, Dakota Johnson, Paul Rudd, Jack Black, Selena Gomez, Michelle Obama, Gwyneth Paltrow, Quinta Brunson and Adam Scott. Poehler launched the podcast in March 2025. The show is produced Poehler\u2019s Paper Kite Productions in conjunction with Spotify\u2019s The Ringer<\/a> led by Bill Simmons.<\/p>\n Poehler is no stranger to the Golden Globes stage: She and Fey hosted the ceremony for a three-year run from 2013-15 and then again in 2021. In addition, Poehler won the Globes for actress in a television series musical or comedy in 2013 for her starring role in NBC\u2019s \u201cParks and Recreation.\u201d<\/p>\n The Globes last year announced the new podcast award<\/a> starting with the 2026 ceremony, in recognition of \u201cthe extraordinary and diverse talents in podcasting.\u201d The six nominees were selected from among the 25 most popular podcasts deemed eligible<\/a> and include both audio-only and video podcasts, based on Luminate listener metrics.<\/p>\n Several popular podcasts were snubbed in the first go-round for Globes podcasts, including Joe Rogan\u2019s \u201cThe Joe Rogan Experience,\u201d which consistently ranks as the No. 1 show on different rankings.
