\u201cThe Studio\u201d has won the Golden Globe for Best Television Series \u2014 Musical or Comedy at the 83rd Annual Golden Globes ceremony.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Studio\u201d beat out a field of nominees<\/a> that also included a string of former winners and nominees, including former winner \u201cAbbott Elementary,\u201d which won back in 2023 but has been nominated each year since, \u201cThe Bear,\u201d which won in 2024 for its second season, \u201cHacks,\u201d which won in 2022 and again last year in 2025, \u201cNobody Wants This,\u201d which has twice been nominated, and perennial nominee but never winner \u201cOnly Murders in the Building.\u201d<\/p>\n More from IndieWire<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe Studio\u201d in its first year on air won the top prize at the Emmys last year for its breakout first season on Apple TV+, and it wound up winning 13 Emmys in all<\/a>. Star Seth Rogen also won the Golden Globe earlier this evening for Best Actor in the Musical or Comedy series. The series was created by Evan Goldberg, Alex Gregory, and Peter Huyck.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Studio\u201d stars Rogen as the film studio head of a struggling film studio, with each episode being shot in an unbroken, continuous take to highlight the chaos and constant energy of Hollywood and the bumbling executives behind the scenes. The series has a litany of A-list guest stars, and A-listers are now lining up to star in the upcoming Season 2<\/a>. It stars Rogen alongside Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, Kathryn Hahn, and Catherine O\u2019Hara, who was also nominated for a Golden Globe on Sunday in the Supporting Actress category.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Studio\u201d actually filmed an entire episode set at the Golden Globes, in which people continually thanked junior studio executive Sal Saperstein, as played by Barinholtz, rather than Rogen\u2019s character. At the Emmys last year, winners throughout the evening kept the joke running (though Rogen himself did not<\/a>), and sadly, we didn\u2019t hear Saperstein\u2019s name this evening.<\/p>\n Nikki Glaser hosts the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 11, her second stint hosting the awards show after first hosting last year.<\/p>\n Dick Clark Productions, which owns and produces the Golden Globes, is a Penske Media company.
