The legendary songwriter and INXS<\/strong> co-founder has released his latest single, Mending Fences<\/em>, co-written with acclaimed Americana artist Stephen Wilson Jr<\/strong>.<\/p>\nWritten during time spent in Nashville, Mending Fences<\/em> draws from Farriss\u2019 deep connection to rural life and the rhythms of farming. Now based on a farm in New South Wales, Farriss splits his creative time between touring and working the land, and that balance is felt throughout the song. At its heart, the track is about resilience, hard work, and the emotional weight carried by people whose lives are shaped by the land.<\/p>\n\u201cMending Fences is a song I wrote with Stephen Wilson Jr. when I was spending time in Nashville. It touches on the hard life of farmers, their day-to-day routines, and some of the emotional issues they may face. It\u2019s really a tribute to how much energy – physically and emotionally – the world\u2019s farmers put into their craft in order to provide food and products for the entire world.\u201d<\/p>\n
The release follows a major milestone for Farriss in 2024, when he made his Grand Ole Opry <\/strong>debut. The appearance was made even more special with Keith Urban <\/strong>joining him as a surprise guest, reinforcing Farriss\u2019 respected place within the global country and Americana scene.<\/p>\n\n\n

Farriss first stepped out on his own in 2021 with his debut solo album, which delivered well-received singles including Come Midnight<\/em> and Good Momma Bad<\/em>. His song You Are My Rock<\/em> charted on the US Billboard Indicator chart, while With The Kelly Gang<\/em> earned a Golden Guitar nomination for Heritage Song of the Year, showing his ability to connect across both Australian and international audiences.<\/p>\nLooking ahead, Farriss is far from slowing down. His next full length album The Prospector<\/em>, is set for release in 2026, with more new music to follow through a companion project titled Thunderbolt<\/em>.<\/p>\nOf course, Farriss\u2019 legacy stretches far beyond his solo work.
