So it\u2019s really easy to rip him to pieces no problem,\u201d O\u2019Leary, 71, told The Post on the red carpet. \u201cThat guy, his blind ambition and [he] just runs over everybody. When we were shooting that, it got really tense. I remember on one take for maybe 10 or 15 seconds afterwards, one of the guys said, \u2018Whoa. Oh, you guys took that a little too far.\u2019 And, and I said, \u2018We just took a breather.\u2019 I wanted that scene in the movie, but Josh didn\u2019t want it in.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Timothee Chalamet and Kevin O\u2019Leary attend the \u201cMarty Supreme\u201d premiere in New York in Dec. 2025. <span class=\"credit\">ZUMAPRESS.com<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI hope he puts it in there on the Blu-ray,\u201d O\u2019Leary added of Safdie, 41. \u201cBut that was the height of the craziness between Chalamet and I.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Canadian businessman also confirmed that he used a fake ping pong paddle to strike Chalamet at first, but it broke after only one hit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThen I had a real one. I hit him but I was holding back because I didn\u2019t want to hurt him,\u201d O\u2019Leary recalled. \u201cAnd Josh said, \u2018Hey, this doesn\u2019t even look real. Wind up and do one so we can get a shot of his face.\u2019 And when you see his eyes coming out of his head, I wound up back here and went full blast into the right cheek. I can\u2019t imagine how much that must have hurt. It printed the logo of that thing right on his rear end.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, O\u2019Leary said that he was proud he went out of his \u201ccomfort zone\u201d by starring in the film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really enjoyed it.
