Sunday night\u2019s Golden Globes were perfectly fine. Second-time host <\/span>Nikki Glaser<\/b> proved<\/a> (again) that she\u2019s the best person for the job since <\/span>Tina Fey<\/b> and <\/span>Amy Poehler<\/b>; all the movies and movie stars you expected to win did (<\/span>One Battle After Another<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Jessie Buckley<\/b>; <\/span>Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet<\/b>); all the movies and movie stars you reluctantly expected to lose also did (<\/span>Michael B. Jordan<\/b>); and no one did anything particularly noteworthy. The worst thing was Polymarket\u2019s sponsorship of the evening (don\u2019t bring your sports bullshit into my celebrity bullshit); the best thing was Glaser\u2019s joke about CBS News (it\u2019s now a place where you can \u201csee b.s. news\u201d\u2014kinda ballsy given that the show was airing on CBS!).<\/span><\/p>\n

The main surprise seemed to be that <\/span>Rhea Seehorn<\/b> won for <\/span>Pluribus<\/span><\/i>; she got very sweetly sidetracked by<\/span> Queen Latifah<\/b> while giving her acceptance speech (who among us). Poehler won the inaugural \u201cbest podcast\u201d award, and while I think this is a stupid award, I am glad that <\/span>Dax Shepard <\/b>lost<\/a>. And Chalamet thanked <\/a><\/span>Kylie Jenner<\/b> again.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
