Influencer Esther Thomas<\/strong> has died after undergoing surgery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cGreetings \u2026 We the family of Esther Thomas [A.K.A Sunshine] with pain in our heart we regret to announce the sudden demise of our beloved sister and daughter Esther Thomas who suddenly passed away on the 9th of January 2026 after an unsuccessful surgery,\u201d a statement shared via Thomas\u2019 Instagram<\/a> on Saturday, January 10, read.<\/p>\n

The statement continued, \u201cShe had [a] fibroid and was operated on so she couldn\u2019t make it so we are trying to put things in place so we could put her to rest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another added, \u201cWas actually hoping the news was fake\ud83d\udc94 i cant even explain how i feel rn but tbvh [sic] this one really touch me\ud83d\ude14 you were such a nice, dedicated and very hardworking person, my deepest condolences to your family during this period\ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffe and may you find rest and peace in the bosom of the lord my dear sunshine \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\udd4a\ufe0f.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thomas, who amassed more than 136,000 followers<\/a> on Instagram, was known for her online skits and collaborations with other Nigerian internet stars. Chidera Madu,<\/strong> for one, mourned Thomas in a video shared after her death.<\/p>\n

Madu explained in the Instagram<\/a> clip shared on Sunday, January 11, that Thomas was \u201ccomplaining that she was having stomach\u201d pain on December 28. Her condition worsened on January 1 and she was hospitalized.<\/p>\n

Madu claimed that scans were done and doctors determined that Thomas\u2019 fibroid had \u201cgrown so big.\u201d He went on to allege that the doctor suggested Thomas undergo an operation to remove the fibroid and relieve her pain.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tInfluencer Gracious Teiyan has died at age 26. Kenyan news outlet Tuko reported that Teiyan was transported to a hospital after experiencing severe migraines on September 14. She died two days later. Teiyan\u2019s fianc\u00e9, Paul Simat, told the outlet that she died from sinus thrombosis \u2014 which the Cleveland Clinic describes as a rare condition [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe pain was getting out of hand,\u201d Madu claimed.<\/p>\n

While Madu alleged that the doctor said Thomas\u2019 operation was \u201csuccessful,\u201d she had \u201ccomplications\u201d and died.<\/p>\n

Days before Thomas\u2019 death, the influencer reflected on her mantra heading into the new year.<\/p>\n
