The <strong>Dan Snaith<\/strong> pseudonym \u2013 which he somehow operates alongside Caribou \u2013 will release <em>Butterfly<\/em> on 6 February via <strong>Jiaolong<\/strong>. To give fans a couple more tasters ahead of the album, having already shared <em>Waiting So Long (feat. Caribou)<\/em> and <em>Lucky<\/em>, today he releases two new tracks, <em>Good Night Baby<\/em> and <em>Talk To Me<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Good Night Baby<\/em> has enjoyably skittish beats and a warm, playful side. Snaith says it is \u201ca good illustration of how far a finished track can end up from its origin \/ of how rudderless I am when making music most of the time. This one started out more like the mostly drums only track that you hear towards the end\u2026 but somewhere along the way turned into a big mushy loved up track with all the feels.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"DAPHNI - Good Night Baby\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x-YlWi6Rqdo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p><em>Talk To Me<\/em> is very different, with a slightly sinister vocal that speaks of AI gone wrong. Snaith calls it \u201cthe polar opposite of <em>Good Night Baby<\/em>. It\u2019s rare that I manage to keep my tracks as sparse and spare as this one\u2014just wubs, drums, voices and occasionally a little synth melody. I didn\u2019t think that this was done until I played it out but on a big soundsystem it struck me that this was all it needed.\u201d Minimal is the word here, though there is still plenty going on with the beats and lightly ethereal backdrop.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"DAPHNI - Talk To Me\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GlBWLbG2WAo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Adding to the single releases, Snaith has prepared a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix under his Daphni pseudonym, premiering on 17 January.
