\u201cDaily Show\u201d host Jon Stewart<\/a> on Monday warned that in less than one year, President Donald Trump<\/a> has dragged the United States into a \u201cconfusing, dark place.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Just days into 2026, the administration has done everything from placing steak atop the food pyramid<\/a> to Trump declaring himself the \u201cacting\u201d president of Venezuela<\/a> after sending the U.S. military to remove its leader, Nicol\u00e1s Maduro<\/a>, and bring him and his wife, Cilia Flores, to New York to face criminal charges.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWe are on the Donald Trump Gravitron,\u201d Stewart said, referring to the carnival ride<\/a> that spins and uses centrifugal force to pin riders against the wall. \u201cWe don\u2019t know what up or down is, we just know it feels like we\u2019re all gonna vomit!\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cThis president has made monumental changes to the manner in which this country operates,\u201d Stewart said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He then played clips of Trump spinning the Jan. 6 assault on the Capitol by his supporters as a \u201cpeaceful\u201d event, which led to his mass pardon of all involved \u2015 even those who attacked police. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Trump and his allies tried to rewrite history again last week after an ICE agent shot and killed<\/a> Renee Good in Minneapolis. Stewart played clips of right-wing media figures claiming<\/a> Good was attempting to kill officers with her car, even though the footage showed no such thing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cMotherfucker!\u201d Stewart declared after playing the clips. \u201cWe are in a confusing, dark place. And this is where, quite frankly, rule of law and institutions are kind of an important framework.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Now, he said, those are gone, and what\u2019s left are two systems: one for those who support Trump and another for those who don\u2019t. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n See more in his Monday night monologue: <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
