Assumption<\/em>, the new Landowner LP dropping at the end of next month.<\/p>\nAccording to promo materials for the new album, Landowner’s original guiding concept was “weak d-beat,” and they do indeed bring a hardcore posture to lead single “Rival Males.” But the 90-second track has sort of a spindly sock-hop feel, too, which makes for a fun tension with Dan Shaw’s aggressive barking. <\/p>\n
