Melodic metalcore pioneers Poison The Well<\/b> have announced their first album in 17 years, Peace In Place<\/i>, due March 20 via SharpTone. We\u2019ve got an exclusive \u201csolid gold\u201d vinyl variant<\/a>, limited to 500 copies and up for pre-order<\/a> in the BV shop now. Get yours while they last!<\/p>\n The album doesn\u2019t include the band\u2019s 2025 single \u201cTrembling Level,\u201d<\/a> but it does include the just-released new single \u201cThoroughbreds.\u201d It\u2019s a hard-to-pin-down, shapeshifting song that finds Poison The Well nailing the balance of heavy, melodic, and experimental that they honed all throughout their initial run. About the song, vocalist Jeffrey Moreira said, \u201cBeasts of burden are hard to break\u2014not because they\u2019re strong, but because they\u2019re stubborn. \u2018Thoroughbreds\u2019 is about realizing that some lifelong bonds don\u2019t fail early; they fail after you believed they were there to stay.\u201d Check out the song and its Chris Candy-directed video below.<\/p>\n About making their comeback, Jeffrey said, \u201cJoining Poison the Well at 18 and chasing music shaped how I approach life. After stepping away from Poison the Well, it felt like all the emotion from that time \u2014 frustration, heartache, disappointment \u2014 compressed into something heavy and unavoidable. But anger isn\u2019t what drives us. Connection is. Sometimes that connection starts in darker places, and having an outlet for those emotions is how we find our way forward. This record lives across that entire spectrum.
