Ubisoft intends to make 55 people redundant at its Swedish studios Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm.<\/span><\/p>\n The French publisher confirmed the news in a <\/span>statement to IGN<\/a><\/span> and said the proposed restructure follows the completion of a <\/span>voluntary redundancy program<\/a><\/span> that commenced in 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n “Earlier today, we informed all employees in our Swedish studios (Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft Stockholm) about a proposed organizational restructure that may affect approximately 55 roles across Malm\u00f6 and Stockholm,” said Ubisoft.<\/span><\/p>\n “[…] These proposed changes are forward-looking and structural, they are not related to individual performance, recent deliveries, or the quality of the work produced by the teams.”<\/span><\/p>\n Ubisoft said the long-term direction for both studios “remains unchanged.”\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Massive Entertainment is based in Malmo and has worked on major titles such as <\/span>Tom Clancy’s The Division<\/span><\/span>, <\/span>Star Wars Outlaws<\/span><\/span>, and <\/span>Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Ubisoft Stockholm is currently working on an unannounced new franchise that leverages the studio’s cloud computing technology, Ubisoft Scalar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The news comes around two weeks after <\/span>Ubisoft announced the closure of its Halifax studio<\/a><\/span>, which raised eyebrows given the Canadian studio voted to unionize just weeks earlier.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nUbisoft continues layoffs after $1.25 billion Tencent \u00a0investment<\/h2>\n
