{"id":2234319,"date":"2026-01-14T11:35:24","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T11:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=2234319"},"modified":"2026-01-14T11:35:24","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T11:35:24","slug":"milton-keynes-is-getting-a-major-new-live-music-venue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/milton-keynes-is-getting-a-major-new-live-music-venue\/","title":{"rendered":"Milton Keynes is getting a major new live music venue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"article-body\">\n<p id=\"852231a8-d66c-4642-89aa-ee4c58437249\">Milton Keynes is getting a new venue that will be able to compete with some of London\u2019s major music spots.<\/p>\n<p>A 4000-capacity space is planned for the site of the old bus station at Elder Gate, just a couple of minutes\u2019 walk from Milton Keynes Central train station.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" id=\"elk-seasonal\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<aside data-block-type=\"embed\" data-render-type=\"fte\" data-skip=\"dealsy\" data-widget-type=\"seasonal\" class=\"hawk-root\"\/>\n<p id=\"852231a8-d66c-4642-89aa-ee4c58437249-2\">The project is a partnership between the council-owned Milton Keynes Development Partnership (MKDP) and ATP Entertainment \u2014 it operates a whole bunch of London theatres. But ATP Entertainment is also responsible for Swansea\u2019s Building Society Arena, which is closer to what we picture for Milton Keynes\u2019s new venue, as a place for a wide range of entertainment to thrive.<\/p>\n<p id=\"5a688394-3747-40e1-bcc2-7b88f0a689f1\">\u201cThis new venue will complement the success of Milton Keynes Theatre by enabling larger-scale <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shortlist.com\/music\/gig-list-2026\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.shortlist.com\/music\/gig-list-2026\">live music<\/a>, comedy, and entertainment experiences that cannot currently be accommodated, broadening the city\u2019s cultural offer for residents and visitors alike,&#8221; says Nick Potter, COO of ATG Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" id=\"elk-b085c137-d786-4d42-9c0a-0dda9b129453\" data-url=\"\" href=\"\" target=\"_blank\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-hl-processed=\"none\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"a-2029-opening-3\">A 2029 opening?<\/h2>\n<p id=\"b1eba403-ec85-4970-b08d-99d766fb8741\">The bad news: this venue project still has plenty more hoops to jump through and even if it gets through them, won\u2019t be open for a few years.<\/p>\n<p>It needs to go through the usual public consultation process, expected later this year, with 2029 eyed for its opening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIdentifying ATG as our preferred partner takes us one step closer to delivering a world-class events venue for Milton Keynes,\u201d says MKDP chair Nicola Sawford.<\/p>\n<div id=\"slice-container-newsletterForm-articleInbodyContent-LAd6N3jM42vbvAJuEwWYC4\" class=\"slice-container newsletter-inbodyContent-slice newsletterForm-articleInbodyContent-LAd6N3jM42vbvAJuEwWYC4 slice-container-newsletterForm\">\n<div data-hydrate=\"true\" class=\"newsletter-form__wrapper newsletter-form__wrapper--inbodyContent\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form__container\">\n<section class=\"newsletter-form__top-bar\"\/>\n<section class=\"newsletter-form__main-section\">\n<p class=\"newsletter-form__strapline\">Get exclusive shortlists, celebrity interviews and the best deals on the products you care about, straight to your inbox.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe venue will not only bring incredible live entertainment to the heart of the city but also boost the local economy, create jobs, and strengthen Milton Keynes\u2019 reputation as a destination for music, culture, and events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This will easily become Milton Keynes\u2019s premier live music venue, with current options limited to the likes of Unit Nine and MK11, alongside Milton Keynes Theatre. And neither of those is remotely close to Milton Keynes station, which is after all only a 30-odd-minute train ride from Euston if you pick the right train.<\/p>\n<p>Milton Keynes\u2019s new venue is being funded through a \u00a376 million investment fund, with hopes to bring in \u00a3158 million for the local economy and the creation of around 70 jobs.
