The Art Center of Ramona is home to a new Gallery Sessions concert series designed for \u201cfolks who love to listen to music.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The quarterly event, to be hosted by musician Cathryn Beeks, will feature mostly out-of-town and traveling musicians at the center\u2019s gallery.<\/span><\/p>\n Two husband and wife duos, Virginia James and Bug Guts, will perform at the inaugural event on Sunday, Jan. 25.<\/span><\/p>\n Virginia James features Alicia Farias on violin and Chris Farias on guitar. Both are classically trained musicians and sing, and will be playing a lot of their original songs, Beeks said.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cTheir own love story is also part of their music,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n The two had been living in Boston, but moved to San Marcos near the end of last year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Bug Guts features Rosebud and Scott Ireland. Originally from San Diego, the couple now lives in Northern California.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere is nothing like them; they both sing and play, their music is vocally driven, it\u2019s poignant, and they have with smart, witty lyrics,\u201d Beeks said.<\/span><\/p>\n The seated venue is limited to 30 guests.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe session begins with a reception from 5 to 6 p.m., allowing time for guests to enjoy hors d\u2019oeuvres, a glass of Mermaid Valley wine and the art in the gallery before the performances,\u201d Beeks said.<\/span><\/p>\n
