A new contender has become the highest-grossing actor of all time. <\/p>\n

The Oscar-winning actress Zoe Salda\u00f1a passed Scarlett Johansson, the previous record holder, following the release of \u201cAvatar: Fire and Ash\u201d in December, which has grossed more than $1.2 billion so far, according to The Numbers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The film industry data site estimates that Salda\u00f1a\u2019s films have grossed more than $15.47 billion, while Johansson\u2019s films have grossed roughly $15.4 billion.<\/p>\n

Salda\u00f1a portrayed the character of Neytiri for the third time in \u201cAvatar: Fire and Ash,\u201d the latest installment in James Cameron\u2019s \u201cAvatar\u201d franchise. <\/p>\n

Salda\u00f1a first played Neytiri in \u201cAvatar,\u201d released in 2009. The film currently stands as the highest-grossing film of all time in the worldwide box office, not adjusted for inflation, having grossed $2.9 billion, according to The Numbers. The second film in the series, \u201cAvatar: The Way of Water,\u201d released in 2022, is the third highest-grossing film of all time, raking in $2.3 billion at the global box office. <\/p>\n

The \u201cAvatar\u201d franchise is not the only blockbuster franchise Salda\u00f1a has starred in. She has also starred as Gamora in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing the character in the \u201cGuardians of the Galaxy\u201d trilogy, as well as \u201cAvengers: Infinity War\u201d and \u201cAvengers: Endgame.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAvengers: Endgame\u201d is the second highest grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office, earning roughly $2.7 billion, meaning the top three highest grossing films of all time all feature Salda\u00f1a, according to The Numbers.<\/p>\n

Other high-grossing films that Salda\u00f1a has starred in include the rebooted \u201cStar Trek\u201d trilogy, beginning with \u201cStar Trek\u201d in 2009, \u201cStar Trek Into Darkness\u201d in 2013 and \u201cStar Trek Beyond\u201d in 2016, as well as \u201cPirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.\u201d<\/p>\n

Salda\u00f1a won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2025 for her role as Rita Mora Castro in \u201cEmilia Perez.\u201d<\/p>\n
