We were then invited to return for their annual community Christmas dinner, where more than 1,000 people gather for a massive feast.<\/p>\n<p>The Athabasca Community Christmas Dinner is a free event that has taken place for more than 30 years. It happens in the town\u2019s largest gathering place, the Athabasca Regional Multiplex. Local businesses help cover the cost of supplies and more than 100 volunteers help make it all happen.<\/p>\n<p>CBC partnered with the library to support the event with a custom photo booth and bespoke colouring books that were a hit with families.
