KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A one-of-a-kind baseball card now ties a Hall of Fame quarterback to the Kansas City Royals.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, sports card maker Topps announced<\/a> that a 1-of-1 Superfractor autograph card of Hall of Fame Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino will be made to commemorate his time as a Kansas City Royals draft pick.<\/p>\n

Marino was drafted by the Royals in the fourth round of the 1979 MLB Draft out of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

Rather than head toward a career in the MLB, Marino enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh and four years later became the 27th overall pick in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n

Marino is one of several Hall of Fame — or near Hall of Fame — quarterbacks with a tie to baseball. Tom Brady, John Elway and Russell Wilson all were drafted in an MLB Draft.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unclear how collectors can get their hands on the unique Marino card.<\/p>\n
