Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser<\/a> didn\u2019t think bits about President Donald Trump<\/a> would land at her big party in Hollywood last weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n On Tuesday, the comedian talked about striking out the \u201cright tone\u201d for the event during a post-event interview with radio icon Howard Stern<\/a>, detailed by Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. In it, she explained why several quips about politics didn\u2019t make it in her monologue.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Glaser said she passed on a joke that comedy legend Steve Martin offered her, opting not to mock the recent renaming of the Kennedy Center<\/a> in Washington, D.C., by telling the awards show\u2019s attendees they were enjoying an evening at the \u201cTrump Beverly Hilton.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Explaining why it got the ax, she said, \u201cIt was like, you just don\u2019t say that guy\u2019s name right now. I just want to give it space.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Another punchline that got left on the cutting room floor was about Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI was gonna come in at some point and say, \u2018I\u2019m hearing from the bar that we\u2019re out of ice. And you know what? We don\u2019t really need ICE. And actually, I hate ICE. I\u2019ve never even wanted ICE,\u2019\u201d Glaser told Stern, calling the joke too \u201ctrivial\u201d to be worth keeping in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n While the stand-up talent didn\u2019t lean heavily on politics for laughs during her gig, she did decide to take a quick swipe<\/a> at CBS, the Golden Globes\u2019 broadcaster \u2015 and her boss that evening.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
