Cutty Ranks will be releasing his latest 15-track album, \u2018Black List\u2019, with a release party on February 27th, at Rebel T Headquarters in the Corporate Area.<\/p>\n
The Dancehall star produced most of the tracks himself using rhythm tracks provided by beatmaker Richard Kerr. <\/p>\n
The album features collaborations such as a remake of a Marcia Griffiths hit called \u2018Back in the Days\u2019 with Marcia Griffiths herself, \u2018Better Tomorrow\u2019 featuring Lukey D and \u2018Mi Amor\u2019 featuring Singa J. <\/p>\n
He has high hopes for the collabs.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe song with Marcia Griffiths has a very powerful message, as it tells you about the music business and what we remember about how the music was in those days compared with now. And the collab with Singa J, Mi Amor, was written by me entirely in Spanish, so the album has a lot of variety,\u201d Cutty Ranks said.<\/p>\n
\u2018The Bomber\u2019 has always had a great relationship with the Latin American market and the reggaeton industry.<\/p>\n
He feels great that the single, \u2018Dame Tu Cosita\u2019 featuring El Chombo and the Dancing Green Alien, has racked up billions of views on YouTube, but that elation is bitter-sweet.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Latin America market has embraced me\u2026and if you check Spotify, Apple Music, the song has billions on other platforms but I still have not got the credit I deserve or the compensation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cDame Tu Cosita\u201d ( translated as \u2009\u2019Give me your little thing\u2019) was originally recorded in 1997 by Panamanian artist El Chombo and Cutty Ranks. The single was extended and released as a single in 2018. Then a remix with major stars like Pitbull and Karol G was released on August 29, 2018.<\/p>\n
