A video for the title track was shot with <strong>The C.O.I.N.<\/strong> (<strong>Incantation<\/strong>, <strong>Gruesome<\/strong>) and is streaming below. As for the creative connective tissue of the album, vocalist\/guitarist <strong>Mike Erdody<\/strong> described it as an, \u201callegory about life, choices, and consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The record was tracked at <strong>GodCity Studio<\/strong> in Salem, MA with <strong>Converge<\/strong>\u2018s <strong>Kurt Ballou<\/strong> overseeing the production, while engineer <strong>Zach Weeks<\/strong> (<strong>Deafheaven<\/strong>, <strong>Fuming Mouth<\/strong>) also involved. Guitarist <strong>Alex Awn<\/strong> said of the album:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe biggest shift for me on this record was not feeling like we had to fly the \u2018death-doom banner\u2019 as part of our identity. Death-doom, as a genre, gave us something to anchor our sound around when we started. It was always a reference and touchstone. At the same time, we always wanted to make sure we had our own spin on it. We\u2019ve always been adding to the conversation, adding to the genre, giving our point of view. A huge part of what makes a <strong>Temple of Void<\/strong> record is the non-death-doom influences that make up our DNA. And on album five we never once asked ourselves, \u2018Do we have enough death metal?
