And more than 200 million videos on TikTok have now used the so-called 2016 filter to make everything rosy, the way we did back in the day for pretty much every photo and video we shared on social media.<\/p>\n Celebrities are getting in on the 2016-celebrating trend too. Lily Collins shared a slideshow of pics from the year on Instagram<\/a>, writing, \u201cI’m not sure why we decided 2016 is back, but wow, it really was a vibe \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Charlie Puth shared a rosy-hued Instagram video<\/a>, set to his 2016 song with Selena Gomez \u201cWe Don\u2019t Talk Anymore,\u201d writing in the caption, \u201cHeard it was 2016 again?\u201d<\/p>\n And Shay Mitchell also posted a series of throwback photos, including some with her Pretty Little Liars<\/em> castmates \u2014 and of course, a video with Snapchat\u2019s iconic puppy dog filter. \u201cI heard 2026 is the new 2016 and I\u2019m so okay with it,\u201d she wrote on Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n The food website Eater even posted a slideshow of food trends from the year on Instagram<\/a>, which included rolled ice cream and, of course, avocado toast.<\/p>\n Part of the fascination, according to social media users, is that 2016 feels like the last year before the world shifted. Why?
