For its upcoming live-action remake of \u201cHow to Train Your Dragon 2<\/a>,\u201d Universal<\/a> and DreamWorks<\/a> are turning to the original voice of Valka<\/a>, Cate Blanchett<\/a>, to reprise the role on camera.<\/p>\n

Blanchett is the second member of the \u201cDragon\u201d animated voice cast to make the leap to the remake series. She follows Gerard Butler<\/a>, who played Hiccup\u2019s father Stoick in both the first \u201cHow to Train Your Dragon\u201d in 2010 and in last year\u2019s remake, which made $636 million at the global box office.<\/p>\n

In the 2014 animated sequel, a now teenage and more confident Hiccup encounters his mother Valka, whom Stoick believed to be dead after she was taken by a dragon during a raid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
