Queen legend Freddie Mercury<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s daughter, Bibi, died at age 48 following a battle with spinal cancer.<\/p>\n

Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> revealed the name of Mercury\u2019s daughter on Thursday, January 15, while breaking the news of her death. Bibi\u2019s husband told the publication that she died \u201cpeacefully after a long battle with chordoma, a rare spinal cancer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bibi is survived by her widower, Thomas<\/strong>, along with two sons, aged 9 and 7 years old.<\/p>\n

\u201cB is now with her beloved and loving father in the world of thoughts,\u201d Thomas\u2019 statement to the Daily Mail<\/em> continued. \u201cHer ashes were scattered to the wind over the Alps.\u201d<\/p>\n

The year started off with the sad news that Broadway performer and influencer Bret Hanna-Shuford died at age 46 after being diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoma. His husband, Stephen Hanna-Shuford, confirmed on January 3 that the Beauty and the Beast actor \u201cleft this [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bibi\u2019s existence was revealed in author Lesley-Ann Jones<\/strong>\u2019 2025 book Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury\u2019s Secret Life and Love<\/em>. She was only referred to as \u201cB\u201d at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am devastated by the loss of this woman who became my close friend, who had come to me with a selfless aim: to brush aside all those who have had free rein with Freddie\u2019s story for 32 years, to challenge their lies and their rewriting of his life, and to deliver the truth,\u201d Jones told the Daily Mail<\/em> in a statement on Thursday. \u201cAt the end of her life, it was all that mattered to her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jones revealed that Bibi was \u201cvery ill\u201d while they worked together over the past four years<\/a>. The women connected in 2021 after Bibi read Jones\u2019 book Love of My Life: The Life and Loves of Freddie Mercury<\/em>. Bibi\u2019s cancer had come back at that point.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut she was on a mission,\u201d Jones added. \u201cShe put herself and her own needs last.\u201d<\/p>\n

The author also offered more insight into Bibi\u2019s cancer battle.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer cancer reared originally when she was very young,\u201d Jones claimed. \u201cIt\u2019s the real reason why the family relocated quite frequently, so that they could access the best treatment at the time for chordoma: a rare form of spinal cancer that was always going to kill her.\u201d<\/p>\n
