Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.)<\/a> managed to piss off a lot of MAGA<\/a> supporters on Wednesday with a social media post about the death <\/a>of \u201cDilbert\u201d<\/a> cartoonist Scott Adams<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Michigan congressman\u2019s post<\/a> referred to Adams as \u201ca tortured and struggling cartoonist,\u201d and claimed his death on Tuesday was \u201creportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with SHRI DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But there was a catch: Thanedar\u2019s post was actually a cut-and-paste of comments Donald Trump<\/a> made on his TruthSocial platform in the wake of film director Rob Reiner\u2019s death<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He made the point behind the post clear by asking, \u201cAm I doing this right MAGA, or is it only OK when Trump does it?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Thanedar\u2019s post also referenced when many newspapers canceled \u201cDilbert\u201d in February 2023, after Adams said the \u201cbest advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from Black people,\u201d<\/a> while adding, \u201cJust get the fuck away. Wherever you have to go, just get away.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, were found dead with knife wounds in their California home in December, Trump baselessly claimed the deaths were actually caused by \u201cthe anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Although some people might consider turnabout to be fair play, those folks apparently aren\u2019t MAGA members.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

As a result, Thanedar\u2019s post was condemned by supporters of Adams and Trump, while others simply noted the double standard. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Thanedar called out the hypocrisy in a reply to a post by Democratic pundit Adam Mockler.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Since the 68-year-old Thanedar entered Congress in 2023, he has apparently earned a reputation for, as fellow Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D) put it, spending more time \u201cposting memes\u201d than being focused on his district<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
