It is written and performed by Linus Karp and Joseph Martin, with original songs by Leland (RuPaul, Troye Sivan, Cher), and featuring a special video appearance by Trixie Mattel. Six High School students are set to unveil their sculptural works as part of the second annual Laura Thorne Sculpture Program at the Art Base. The free exhibition will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 16-30, with a closing reception and artist talk from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 30. This free, three-month mentorship was made possible through the support of Loren Jenkins, Wink Thorne, Melanie Thorne, and Laura Donnelley. Young artists gained hands-on experience and guidance with professional artists and sculptors Gail Folwell and Marcia Weese. The program with this year\u2019s theme of \u201cbugs\u201d culminates in the group exhibition, where students will present and speak about original works created during their mentorship. Aspen Gay Ski Weeks blends a drag queen with a princess in \u201cDiana: The Untold and Untrue Story,\u201d which will take the stage for its second show from 7:30-9 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Wheeler Opera House. Awkward Productions\u2019 multi-award-winning, sold-out Edinburgh Fringe Festival blockbuster tells the story of Diana, in heaven, sharing untold-and-untrue tales of her \u201cextraordinary life.\u201d Fresh off of a global tour, the show combines drag, multimedia appearances, audience interaction, and puppetry \u2014 channeling the spirit of Aspen Gay Ski Week to celebrate the People\u2019s Princess. <\/p>\n

Aspen Chapel Gallery Art \u20185X17,\u2019 Jan. 17-Feb. 28<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Aspen Chapel Gallery will host the \u201c5 X 17\u201d exhibit from 2 to 4 p.m. Jan. 17-Feb. 8, at the Aspen Chapel Gallery. Five different local high schools brought 17 artists from each school to create 85 participating art students into the show. The schools involved are Aspen High School, Basalt High School, Roaring Fork High School, Colorado Rocky Mountain School, and Glenwood Springs High School. The art teachers and students chose the art. Co-directors Michael Bonds and Tom Ward organized this 264th show at the Aspen Chapel Gallery since its inception. Goldfish will perform at 9:30 p.m. Jan. 22, at Belly Up Aspen. South African duo Dominic Peters and David Poole transform electronic music with a mix of beats, live instruments, African rhythms, and sax melodies. Goldfish is currently launching their record label, 33 Degrees, and recently released single \u201cBody Language.\u201d Max Rey opens. The show is for ages 21 and older, with a valid photo ID.
