\n\tAhead of her 80th birthday, Dolly Parton<\/a> revisited her twangy 1977 ballad, \u201cLight of a Clear Blue Morning,\u201d with an impressive group of friends in a new video. The clip features Lainey Wilson<\/a>, Miley Cyrus<\/a>, Queen Latifah<\/a>, and Reba McEntire<\/a> singing their parts in a recording studio.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe clip begins with Parton narrating, \u201cYou know, we\u2019re living in troubled and uncertain times.\u201d Latifah responds, \u201cYeah, we sure are.\u201d Parton rejoins, \u201cBut we can\u2019t let the darkness win.\u201d Each artist takes turns, round-robin style, singing the verses, while David Foster plays piano. The new version includes a gospel choir, the Christ Church Choir, giving the song a peppy finish as the women all harmonize the chorus along with them. \u201cEverything\u2019s gonna be all right,\u201d Parton says at the end, looking into the camera. \u201cIt\u2019s gonna be OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe artist teased the new clip with an Instagram reel<\/a>, explaining she wrote the tune, on which she sings, \u201cI can see the light of a clear blue morning\u201d and \u201ceverything\u2019s gonna be all right,\u201d in 1976 when she \u201cneeded a little hope.\u201d At the time, she was coming to terms with separating from her musical and business partner, Porter Wagoner. \u201cThis time around, I\u2019ve invited some very special women, some real \u2018shining lights\u2019 to help me bring that hope to life again.\u201d<\/p>\n
