Matt Damon<\/a><\/strong> and Ben Affleck<\/a><\/strong> are starring together in new movie The Rip. The pair have famously been close pals for decades \u2013 but how does that friendship work on set? The film\u2019s director has revealed how the pair really act when the cameras aren\u2019t rolling. And good news: it\u2019s probably exactly how you\u2019d expect them to.<\/p>\n

Joe Carnahan revealed how Matt Damon and Ben Affleck behaved between takes<\/h2>\n

At The Rip\u2019s NYC premiere, director Joe Carnahan told People<\/a> about the \u201cbrotherly\u201d relationship between the two stars. He revealed: \u201cOh, they razz each other endlessly. It\u2019s the way brothers go at each other. It\u2019s the way my brother and I talk: we just endlessly clown the other person and that is them.\u201d He concluded: \u201cIt\u2019s very brotherly, their relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joe also noted how the pair\u2019s shared success was kind of unlikely. He said: \u201cYou got two guys; you\u2019re trading on a 40-year friendship, you\u2019re trading on them both being movie stars, which almost never happens. Think about that, these two best friends become movie stars.\u201d<\/p>\n

Matt recently opened up about how he\u2019d supported Ben through a tough period<\/a> where he was drinking too much. Ben also reflected on the pair\u2019s long-standing friendship, telling reporters at the premiere of The Accountant 2: \u201cIt\u2019s a beautiful thing. You know, I don\u2019t have very many \u2013 none of us really have very many friends.\u201d He added: \u201cYou don\u2019t need a million friends. You need good ones. I\u2019m really lucky to have had a friend in Matt.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Rip follows Ben and Matt as cops JD Byrne and Dane Dumars, whose crew starts turning on each other once they find a huge amount of cash at a safe house.<\/p>\n

The pair recently stopped by the Today show to promote the movie, where Ben let slip one thing he dislikes about Matt<\/a>.<\/p>\n
