Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a><\/span>\u2019s legal team is expanding as her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni<\/span><\/a><\/strong> moves closer to trial.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/i> can confirm Lively, 38, has hired attorney Sigrid McCawley<\/strong>, who is a longtime advocate for Jeffrey Epstein<\/strong>\u2019s victims, including Virginia Giuffre<\/span><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a privilege to get to work with Blake Lively\u2019s world-class legal team on a case that at its core is about a woman who was subjected to a hostile work environment and is being attacked for standing up to protect herself and other female coworkers,\u201d McCawley said in a statement to Us<\/i> on Friday, January 16.<\/p>\n

McCawley\u2019s primary role will be handling communications with the public and the media on key matters related to Lively\u2019s case against Baldoni, 41. (People<\/i><\/span><\/a> was first to report the news.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBlake Lively\u2019s alleged feud with director and costar Justin Baldoni on the set of It Ends With Us exploded into multiple lawsuits in 2025. The former Gossip Girl star kicked off the legal battle by filing a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department and subsequently sued Baldoni over sexual harassment allegations. Baldoni\u2019s lawyer Bryan [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lively will continue to be represented by attorneys Mike Gottlieb<\/strong> and Esra Hudson<\/strong>, who have worked with the Gossip Girl<\/i><\/span><\/a> actress for months while navigating subpoena battles, pretrial hearings and more.<\/p>\n

Lively\u2019s legal battle against Baldoni began in December 2024 when she sued her It Ends With Us<\/i><\/span><\/a> costar and director for sexual harassment. According to the suit, Baldoni\u2019s alleged behavior caused Lively \u201csevere emotional distress.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Lively filed her lawsuit, Baldoni\u2019s lawyer addressed the actress\u2019 \u201ccompletely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious\u201d accusations in a statement to Us<\/i>, claiming that she was trying to \u201cfix her negative reputation\u201d and \u201crehash a narrative\u201d regarding the film\u2019s production.<\/p>\n

Baldoni filed his own lawsuit<\/span><\/a> against Lively in January 2025. The case, however, was dismissed<\/span><\/a> six months later.<\/p>\n

While the trial was initially slated to begin in a New York courtroom in March 2026, a judge previously announced that it will now be tried starting <\/span><\/a>on May 18, 2026.<\/p>\n

Although a judge advised both parties to consider settling the case<\/span><\/a> before a trial begins, both Lively and Baldoni\u2019s teams appeared ready to have their day in court when they marked one year of the legal battle in December 2025.<\/p>\n
