Kim Kardashian<\/a> is ushering in the return of a \u201990s staple. Nike\u2019s split-toe Air Rift is back, this time reimagined by NikeSkims<\/a> into an even sleeker ballerina silhouette, and now in satin and mesh.<\/p>\n

The reality star and lifestyle mogul<\/a> paired her new NikeSkims Rifts with a high-low athleisure look as she stepped out of her Los Angeles office earlier this week.<\/p>\n

A black NikeSkims zip-up top and matching semi-sheer leggings<\/a> made up her base, while over the pieces she layered on a luxurious leather Phoebe Philo jacket<\/a> that was cinched at the waist with a metallic honeycomb belt.

The original Air Rift, released in 1996, helped light the path for the ballerina silhouette and the split toe detail (inspired by the Maison Margiela Tabi released in 1988) now popular in the footwear space.<\/p>\n

Kardashian\u2019s new version of the sneaker takes the original and gives it a chic, romantic spin for the modern woman. With its light weight and slick design, the shoe is meant to act as a second skin, designed for natural motion and speed.<\/p>\n
