Populated by collaborators like Whitearmor, swedm\u00ae and other affiliates who also appeared on Skrill\u2019s most recent studio album last April, the eight-and-a-half-minute project is experimental, meandering and fairly light \u2014 music for the acid trip rather than the rave. It\u2019s best listened to in headphones good enough to reveal the many subtle nuances of the sound design and to also emphasize the punchier, weightier moments, including Skrillex\u2019s own singing. Kora<\/em> is out on OWSLA\/Atlantic Recording Corporation. <\/p>\n \n\tSlayyyter, \u201cDance\u2026\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \n\tElectropop hero Slayyyter unfurls a dancefloor siren call with \u201cDance,\u201d designed to make you do just that. Pulsing, breathy and the right kind of ominous, the track folds in elements of French touch and finds Slayyyter declaring that \u201cI kind of hate you but, it doesn\u2019t matter, let me daaaaance,\u201d a nod to the eternal shake-it-off power of the club. Don\u2019t sleep on the stylish disco-meets-crime-scene-meets-house-party-meets-Carrie<\/em> music video, either. <\/p>\n \n\tCrankdat, \u201cMovement\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \n\tOhio native Crankdat is steadily become one of the key bass producers of the moment, a position he further solidifies with his latest, \u201cMovement.\u201d The heavy, crunchy, headbanging type of dubstep that seems like it might ultimately send you cross-eyed, the viral hit \u2014 which features vocals from Linney \u2014 is officially out today on the producer\u2019s own Crank It Up! Records.<\/p>\n \n\tIllenium, Bastille & Dabin, \u201cFeel Alive<\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n \n\tThe Odyssey <\/em>continues with \u201cFeel Alive,\u201d the eighth single from Illenium\u2019s forthcoming album, out Feb. 6. Made with Bastille and longtime associate Dabin, the song is classic Illenium-core, which is to say it\u2019s big, anthemic and built around his signature future bass builds and drops. The new song comes in tandem with the announcement of Odyssey<\/em>\u2018s whopping 19-song tracklist, which includes collaborations like Kid Cudi, Zeds Dead and Bring Me the Horizon. \u201cFeel Alive\u201d is out on Republic Records.<\/p>\n \n\tShimza & Elderbrook, \u201cFalling\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \n\tSouth Africa\u2019s Shimza links with English producer Elderbrook for \u201cFalling,\u201d an Afro house cut that maintains the genre\u2019s scintillating percussion while also growing to anthem size via its big synths and singalong vocals. The song is out on Helix Records. <\/p>\n \n\tFlight School, \u201cUp2Night\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n \n\tCanadian duo Flight School drop an electro heater in \u201cUp2Night,\u201d a collaboration with Australian vocalist Gigi Russ. Textural and driving, this loosie single more or less demands your presence on the dancefloor, and is out on Palm Tree Records. <\/p>\n\n\n
