It\u2019s been almost four years since Slipknot<\/a> released their most recent album The End, So Far<\/em> back in 2022. Since then, they\u2019ve gotten a new drummer, toured relentlessly in honor of the 25th anniversary of their self-titled album, and strung us along for yet another year<\/a> about Look Outside Your Window<\/em>. But it looks like the band might soon begin working on their next studio effort in the near future.<\/p>\n

During a conversation with NME<\/a><\/em>, M. Shawn \u201cClown\u201d Crahan said though the band hasn\u2019t fully begun collaborating on new music just yet, it\u2019s coming soon. They just need to get through a bit of a break first.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cWe\u2019re doing the biggest thing we can do right now, which is taking a much-needed break. We\u2019re taking some real human time. Everybody is writing all the time, but we have not got into a place to work on what\u2019s been written.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

It\u2019s been noted in the past that the writing process in Slipknot can be\u2026 contentious<\/a>. So it\u2019s understandable that maybe everyone wants to make sure they\u2019re fully rested and relaxed before putting the gloves back on.<\/p>\n

According to Crahan, the band currently has some plans in place for everyone to get back together in the studio later this month. Once there, they could begin cobbling together new material, stating that \u201ceveryone is looking forward to getting back at it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once they start, this will be the first time the band will be writing new music after their long run with Roadrunner Records came to an end following the release of The End, So Far<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m in the studio almost every week making music without any of the usual pressures or expectations, which is very fulfilling. I\u2019ve also gotten back into drums in a big way to make sure I\u2019m ready for what\u2019s up next. I\u2019m really trying to take things to that next level.\u201d\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote><\/div>\n
