Guy Lalibert\u00e9 <\/strong>is vaulting from his lily pad and leaning into \u201csemi-retirement.\u201d Cirque du Soleil\u2019s co-founder is parsing out his Frooogs Camp, ending his ownership of the roving arts community.<\/p>\n The sale includes Lalibert\u00e9\u2019s frog-decorated RV for $100,000.<\/p>\n Lalibert\u00e9\u2019s reps say the 66-year-old, entertainment billionaire is gearing down, although we expect him to remain creatively active. Lalibert\u00e9 established the Frooogy Camp and its more than 30 custom-designed RVs about three years ago.<\/p>\n \u201cWe would like to pass it on to a new owner,\u201d a Lalibert\u00e9 rep said, referring to the Frooogs Camp property. \u201cWith the visual signature unique to the founder of Cirque, the colorful RVs are sure to find a buyer.\u201d<\/p>\n According to the plan, the Frooogs Camp would sell in a single transaction, and the current Frooogs team would be available to continue operations. The original partners are Ex-Cirque \u201cZumanity\u201d performers Nicky <\/strong>and Laetitia <\/strong>Dewhurst<\/strong>, former \u201cNouvelle Experience\u201d and \u201cCirque Reinvenete\u201d artist Sally <\/strong>Dewhurst<\/strong>, former banker and Thomas <\/strong>Brunet<\/strong>, and ex-sports marketing exec Stuart Scheinman.<\/strong><\/p>\n Brandon <\/strong>Pereyda<\/strong>, late of \u201cZumanity,\u201d and \u201canti-gravity\u201d artist Alex Schlempp<\/strong> are Frooogy Camp leads.<\/p>\n The collection of RVs is being listed on Facebook marketplace. Topping the list is Lalibert\u00e9\u2019s customized, 2023 Thor Chateau 31Ev, priced at $99,500 (down from $140,000).<\/p>\n Lalibert\u00e9 hosted many events in the rolling festival, built out with tents, original art, music, DJs, and immersive performances. Private chefs created meals in self-sufficient kitchens and dining rooms.<\/p>\n Lalibert\u00e9 once explained his froggy fascination, \u201cI\u2019m an artist and I\u2019m using metaphor instead of taking a hammer to something. I believe in self-medicine, and right now color is the self-medicine of the world.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Invoking Cirque\u2019s whimsy, Frooogs Camp has been a busy attraction at Burning Man and at Camp EDC beginning in September 2023. Lalibert\u00e9 was the pied piper of a Frooogy parade on the Strip in October 2023,<\/a> starting at the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign and ending at the Westgate.<\/p>\n The Frooogs Camp also served as the media center for the Super Bowl in 2024<\/a>. The colorful annex was set up on the resort\u2019s surface lot on the Strip.<\/p>\n The events were a homecoming of sorts for Lalibert\u00e9, who launched Cirque du Soleil with Gilles Ste-Croix <\/strong>in 1984. The circus artists created the international production company from a troupe of 20 street performers in the town of Baie-Saint-Paul in Quebec, Canada.<\/p>\n Lalibert\u00e9 would go on to lead development of \u2018Mystere,\u201d \u201cO,\u201d \u201cZumanity,\u201d \u201cKa,\u201d \u201cLove\u201d \u201cViva Elvis,\u201d \u201cZarkana,\u201dand \u201cMichael Jackson One\u201d on the Strip.<\/p>\n Lalibert\u00e9 sold his interest in Cirque in 2015, making an estimated $1.5 billion in shedding his majority stake. Three years ago, he had stated the Frooogy Camp might be the vehicle (or, vehicles) to return his creative vision to Las Vegas. He had stored his RVs and camp pieces in Las Vegas. As recently as October 2024, reports surfaced that he was mapping a Frooogy festival on the Strip.<\/p>\n Lalibert\u00e9 hinted at the future after his Frooogy parade in \u201823.<\/p>\n \u201cI have not been here much since 2015, so this is like planting a seed,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cI am not retired. I am not drinking margaritas every day at the pool. I am inviting the world to see what we are doing.\u201d<\/p>\n Lalibert\u00e9\u2019s Frooogy legacy will be a vision as colorful as all of Cirque. He\u2019s welcome back to our pad, whenever he wants.<\/p>\n Disco revival at Myron\u2019s<\/strong><\/p>\n A spinning mirrored ball is not in the new remodel of Myron\u2019s, but it could be on Wednesday night. \u201cSoul Fusion: The Music of Nile <\/strong>Rodgers<\/strong>\u201d brings the good times (leave your cares behind).<\/p>\n Once more, the show is under the direction of Dave <\/strong>Siegel<\/strong>, the master musician who co-wrote Enrique Iglesias\u2019s<\/strong> 2002 single \u201cEscape,\u201d and T.I\u2019.\u2019s <\/strong>monster 2008 hit \u201cWhatever You Like,\u201d which spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard charts<\/p>\n The all-star roster of singers: Alli Starr<\/strong> (who headlines Cork & Thorn in the Arts District), Sujana Chand<\/strong> (\u201cThe King Comes Home\u201d Elvis tribute at Westgate Cabaret) and Chris Phillips<\/strong> of Zowie Bowie<\/strong> (high-kicking his way into our hearts for nearly 20 years in VegasVille).<\/p>\n Show time is 7 p.m. Myron Martin, the \u201cMyron\u201d of Myron\u2019s, refers to the club as a \u201clistening room.\u201d But with the music of Chic, Madonna,<\/strong> David Bowie \u2026 The groove might win out.<\/p>\n Tease this \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n Officials from a former Strip production that has been on \u201chiatus\u201d for more than 3 years have reviewed venues on and off the Boulevard. This one needs to return, IMO. Check back, as always \u2026<\/p>\n Cool Hang Alert<\/strong><\/p>\n Bucky Heard<\/strong> of the Righteous Brothers<\/strong> will be righteous in a solo capacity on Thursday at the Italian American Social Club Showroom. Heard is hosting the release party for his new album, \u201cBreathless,\u201dat 6 p.m. (doors), 6:30-8 p.m. (dinner) and 8 p.m. (show).<\/p>\n Heard will mix some refashioned classic covers with his new originals.
