Matt Damon has recently opened up about the impact of Netflix on movie experience.<\/p>\n

The Martian<\/i> star explains that movies now \u201crequire a very different level of attention\u201d when they are \u201cmade available to stream at home\u201d.<\/p>\n

During an appearance on Joe Rogan Experience<\/i> podcast, the Oscar winner says, \u201cThat has a big effect, and it\u2019s also starting to have an effect on how you make movies.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe standard way to make an action movie that we learned was, you usually have three set pieces,\u201d continues the 55-year-old.<\/p>\n

Matt explains, \u201cOne in the first act, one in the second, one in the third. And the kind of ramp up to the big one with all the explosions. You spend most of your money on that one in the third act. That\u2019s your finale.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd now they\u2019re like, \u2018Can we get a big one in the first five minutes? We want people to stay tuned in,\u2019\u201d states the Good Will Hunting<\/i> actor.<\/p>\n

Matt points out that it \u201cwouldn\u2019t be terrible if you reiterated the plot three or four times in the dialogue because people are on their phones while they\u2019re watching\u201d.<\/p>\n
