Bringing Up Bates <\/i>alum Travis Clark<\/strong> publicly celebrated his wife, Katie Bates<\/strong>, less than three months before admitting he was unfaithful in their marriage.<\/p>\n \u201cHappy 25th to the easiest person in the world to celebrate,\u201d Clark, 24, wrote via Instagram<\/a> in October 2025. \u201cYou love so deeply, give so much of yourself to everything you do, and somehow make every season we\u2019re in feel special.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cFrom the first day I met you I knew there was something different about you \u2026 and I was right. Happy birthday, Kate! I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n Clark also included hashtags for \u201cBirthday,\u201d \u201cWife,\u201d \u201cLove\u201d and \u201cBest Friend.\u201d<\/p>\n Bates responded in the comments section at the time, writing, \u201cI love you.\u201d<\/p>\n Three months later, Clark issued a public apology<\/a> for admittedly cheating on his wife just hours after she revealed she had suffered a miscarriage.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is hard to write, but I owe the truth and I owe an apology. I was unfaithful to my wife,\u201d Clark wrote via his Instagram Stories on Saturday, January 17. \u201cI had an affair and repeatedly broke her trust. There is no excuse for what I did. This was my failure and my responsibility alone. I know that words don\u2019t begin to express the damage I caused or the depth of the hurt I\u2019ve brought into her life, but I am truly sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n Clark has been married to Bates since 2021, going on to welcoming two children together.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sorry for the pain, humiliation and betrayal I caused my wife through my choices,\u201d Clark continued. \u201cI understand that an apology doesn\u2019t repair what I broke and forgiveness is not something I deserve or can ask for.\u201d<\/p>\n Clark, who had Bates\u2019 tireless support when he began nursing school<\/a> in summer 2025, stressed that he planned to take responsibility for his actions by \u201cgetting help.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201c[I am] doing the work to change and become a more honest and accountable man, regardless of [the] outcome,\u201d Clark concluded. \u201cI ask for privacy and grace for Katie as she processes this in her own time.\u201d<\/p>\n Hours earlier, Katie \u2014 who has yet to publicly address Clark\u2019s omission \u2014 discussed her recent pregnancy loss<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI will spend the rest of my life missing you,\u201d Katie wrote via Instagram on Friday, January 17, alongside various moments from her pregnancy.<\/p>\n Katie is one of Gil<\/strong> and Kelly Jo Bates<\/strong>\u2019 19 children, who began courting Clark in 2020<\/a> after meeting via mutual friends one year earlier.<\/p>\n \u201cTravis and his family are active in their local church and also travel together to sing, so our families have been able to visit at nearby concerts and church events,\u201d Katie told Us<\/i> in March 2020. \u201cTravis and I are so thankful that the Lord, not only allowed our paths to cross, but that we have been able to begin this new phase of our journey together.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<\/blockquote>\n
