\n\t\t<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n\t\t\tFormer Bachelorette Katie Thurston has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is \u201cready to fight\u201d the disease. \u201cLife update: I have breast cancer,\u201d Thurston, 34, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, February 15. \u201cYesterday I saw all the couples post their Valentine\u2019s Day celebrations. I felt envious if I\u2019m being honest. Jeff [Arcuri] took me to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
In the carousel of the same photo, Thurston further elaborated on how her mother received her diagnosis, first revealing that she got the news \u201ca few weeks ago.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cMy mom was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago. But it wasn\u2019t her doctors who discovered it,\u201d the first photo read, while the second added, \u201cShe just had her mammogram in December where her results said \u2018negative\u2019 and \u2018probably benign.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
The rest of the photos explained, \u201cThey also noted her dense breasts but didn\u2019t recommend further imaging. They told her to come back in a year for her annual mammogram. They never suggested a breast ultrasound. I told her to ask for a breast ultrasound. Ultrasounds can find cancer hidden within dense breasts. During her breast ultrasound, they found suspicious masses. They scheduled a breast MRI & performed biopsies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thought maybe it was my period [or] maybe it was muscle soreness from working out. But, eventually, this lump never went away.\u201d<\/p>\n
