Indonesian filmmaker Joko Anwar<\/a> has unveiled the international teaser for his horror-comedy \u201cGhost in the Cell<\/a>\u201d as the film prepares for its world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival\u2019s Forum section.<\/p>\n

Set within an Indonesian correctional facility, the narrative follows inmates whose survival instincts are tested when a mysterious new prisoner arrives accompanied by a supernatural entity that targets those with the darkest aura. As deaths mount, the incarcerated population discovers that collective action may be their only path to survival.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeneath its supernatural surface lies something very real: the massive deforestation in Indonesia and the way this destruction is too often met with silence or neglect,\u201d Anwar said in his director\u2019s statement. \u201cThe ghost in this film is not only a presence haunting the cells, but also a reminder of consequences we choose not to face.\u201d<\/p>\n
