On Monday, January 19, Dolly Parton turned 80 and gave the world a gift to celebrate, releasing a new version<\/a> of her 1977 single, \u201cLight of a Clear Blue Morning.\u201d This version of the song features vocals from Parton\u2019s goddaughter Miley Cyrus, as well as fellow celebrity singers Lainey Wilson, Queen Latifah, and Reba McEntire. Additionally, it features The Christ Church Choir and composer and producer David Foster on piano.<\/p>\n The song was originally written and recorded 50 years ago \u201cduring a period of personal transition and renewed optimism,\u201d and has endured as \u201cone of Dolly\u2019s most inspirational works,\u201d according to a post on her website<\/a>. The new version \u201creimagines the song with a message of spreading love and hope.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDolly Parton\u2019s life and career is woven into Tennessee\u2019s music, culture, and rich history,\u201d said Governor Bill Lee as part of his proclamation<\/a>. \u201cHer talent and generosity have made a lasting impact on the world, and it is fitting that we honor her 80th birthday by celebrating her remarkable legacy and dedication to the Volunteer State.\u201d<\/p>\n Fans breathed a sigh of relief at the announcement, given that the star had cancelled a series of concerts in December out of an abundance of caution over health concerns.<\/p>\n \u201cI ain\u2019t dead yet!\u201d Dolly Parton teased fans on social media<\/a> with a video assuring everyone that she was well on the mend.<\/p>\n <\/div>\nIn true Dolly fashion, proceeds from the song and the accompanying music video will be donated to benefit pediatric cancer research at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children\u2019s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville. It\u2019s fitting that the release gives back to her home state, given that the state of Tennessee\u2014which is also home to her Dollywood theme park\u2014declared January 19, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day.<\/h4>\n
