\n\tRonald Biggs, the extraordinarily larger than life Great Train Robber turned media celebrity, will be the subject of a six-episode bio crime drama, \u201cBiggs \u2013 the \u2018Biggest\u2019 Thief of the Century,\u201d produced by Jo\u00e3o Daniel Tikhomiroff\u2019s Mixer Films<\/a> (\u201cThe Business,\u201d \u201cBesouro\u201d), one of Brazil\u2019s most important production companies.<\/p>\n

\n\tTo make it, Mixer is teaming with top Brazilian creative talent: director Fabio Mendon\u00e7a, who helmed Prime Video\u2019s \u201cNew Bandits,\u201d and Elena Soarez (\u201cThe House of Sand\u201d), who will serve as head writer.<\/p>\n

\n\tProduced by Jo\u00e3o Daniel Tikhomiroff, with Michel Tikhomiroff serving as creative executive producer, \u201cBiggs\u201d is set between the early 1970s and the mid-1980s. It follows Biggs\u2019<\/p>\n

\n\ttransformation from one of Britain\u2019s most wanted criminals \u2013 Biggs escaped from Wandsworth Prison in 1965, having been sentenced to 30 years for his part in the 1963 Royal Mail train heist\u00a0\u00a0\u2013\u00a0into an unlikely celebrity in Rio de Janeiro. There, as Mixer\u2019s series will explain, fame becomes both his shield and his livelihood.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tHeaded by founder and Mixer partner Jo\u00e3o Daniel Tikhomiroff, Mixer has moved from making commercials, winning 11 Gold Cannes Lions, entering forcefully into film, scripted drama series and doc-feature and series production,\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tDirected by Michel Tikhomiroff , Mixer series \u201cThe Business,\u201d a witty take on female empowerment turning on three women who launch an escort business as if it were a cutting-edge business brand, ran to four seasons over 2013-18 on then HBO Latin America, proving one of its biggest hits in history. Mixer also co-produced mystery thriller \u201cOlhar indiscreto,\u201d a Netflix hit in 2023.<\/p>\n

\n\tDirected by Jo\u00e3o Daniel Tikhomiroff, 2009 Brazilian action drama \u201cThe Assailant\u201d (\u201cBesouro\u201d) was selected for Berlin\u2019s Panorama section. He also helmed kids adventure \u201cPerfecta,\u201da Venice TV Award contender which won a Rose D\u2019or Latino in 2025.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tCo-directed with Aly Muritiba, Fabio Mendoca\u2019s \u201cNew Bandits\u201d has been hailed as a masterpiece by some fans. \u201cThe House of Sand\u201d won an NHK\/ Sundance Award for original screenplay, was acquired for U.S. distribution by Sony Pictures Classics and brought to broader international attention the acting talents of Oscar-nominated Fernanda Montenegro (\u201cCentral Station\u201d) and her daughter Fernanda Torres, a Golden Globe winner and best actress Oscar nominee for Walter Salles\u2019 \u201cI\u2019m Still Here.\u201d<\/p>\n
