Following the eventful<\/a> year<\/a> that<\/a> was<\/a> 2025<\/a>, and the back-to-back touring cycles of The End, So Far<\/em> and We Are Not Your Kind<\/em>, Slipknot<\/strong> are taking some much-needed time off. Recently, the group’s percussionist and de facto leader M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan <\/strong>spoke with NME<\/em><\/a> about his Minecraft-based new video game, Verneath<\/em>, and the status of Grammy-winning group’s next album, their first after parting with long-time label Roadrunner Records. <\/p>\n Clown makes clear that, as of this exact moment, the band are not actively working on their follow-up to 2022’s The End, So Far<\/em>. “We\u2019re doing the biggest thing we can do right now, which is taking a much-needed break.” Still, the band members remain creatively engaged: “We\u2019re taking some real human time. Everybody is writing all the time, but we have not got into a place to work on what\u2019s been written.”<\/p>\n NME seem optimistic, saying there are “tentative” plans for the band to get together soon. Clown adds, “It feels very positive and everyone is looking forward to getting back at it.” For the time being, Clown is focusing his energies of Verneath. “Building this world has opened my mind so much. It\u2019s some of the best art I\u2019ve made in my life.”<\/p>\n
