A new Royal Family member is on the way as Princess Alexandra\u2019s granddaughter announces she is expecting her first child.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Flora Vesterberg, who is 62nd in line to the throne, announced her pregnancy with a post on Instagram on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The art historian, 31, looked glowing as she cradled her growing bump in a photograph with her husband of five years, Timothy Vesterberg.<\/p>\n

\u201cDelighted to share that Timothy and I are expecting our first child. We\u2019re truly over the moon. Photograph by my father,\u201d Flora wrote in the caption.<\/p>\n

Flora\u2019s grandmother, Princess Alexandra, was a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II and is still considered a working member of the Royal Family at 89-years-old.<\/p>\n

Her father is James Ogilvy, a landscape designer and founder of British magazine, Luxury Briefing.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of well-wishers rushed to the comments to congratulate the couple on their happy news.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo much love from very excited grandparents,\u201d Flora\u2019s mother Julia Ogilvy wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow exciting – many congratulations to you both,\u201d added fashion designer Phillipa Lepley, who designed Flora\u2019s wedding dress.<\/p>\n

While Flora does not have a royal title or undertake royal duties, the PhD student is often seen at royal events, including on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for Trooping the Colour<\/a>, at royal weddings, and Queen Elizabeth II\u2019s state funeral<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Most recently, she attended the Royal Family Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace<\/a> in December 2025. She and her family attend the lunch every year.<\/p>\n

A number of royals also attended her marriage blessing in 2021, including Prince Edward, Duchess Sophie, and Lady Amelia Windsor.<\/p>\n

Last year, Flora became the first royal to speak openly about being diagnosed with autism<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She penned a personal essay about her experience of being diagnosed with the condition at the age of 30.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve struggled quietly with the challenges of my neurodiversity since childhood, but am now also able to perceive its strengths,\u201d she wrote for British Vogue.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result of the diagnosis, I feel empowered by having a framework with which to understand my experiences and sensitivities. It brings a sense of relief as well as validation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that this will not only help me to be kinder to myself, but also help my community to support me effectively.\u201d<\/p>\n

Flora met her husband in May 2019 when the Swedish financial director visited an art exhibition that she had curated in London.<\/p>\n

They quickly fell in love and Timothy proposed just six months later.<\/p>\n

They got married at The Chapel Royal of St James\u2019s Palace in September 2020. Due to Covid restrictions at the time, they had a larger ceremony in 2021 where they invited more members of their extended family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
