Matt Damon has recently expressed his disappointment with Oscar campaigning for movies.<\/p>\n

The Martian<\/i> star admitted he \u201c100%\u201d doesn\u2019t mind missing out an \u201caward season\u201d while speaking on Netflix\u2019s Skip Intro podcast.<\/p>\n

Matt revealed he doesn\u2019t understand the concept of campaigning for movies to be recognised.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems completely backwards to me. It\u2019s just odd,\u201d said the 55-year-old.<\/p>\n

Jason Bourne <\/i>actor noted that it might be \u201cgood for movies, just having it all out there and gets the culture thinking and talking about movies\u201d.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Matt noted that with these campaigns during award season, people would know about a certain movie amid \u201cso much noise\u201d.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the interview, the Bourne Identity <\/i>actor shared that he would not go on the campaign trail during the 2025-2026 season as the star of Christopher Nolan\u2019s The Odyssey<\/i> movie.<\/p>\n

When asked about working on the upcoming Greek epic, Matt replied that he was \u201cstill kind of unpacking\u201d the experience and noted it had \u201ca profound effect\u201d on him.<\/p>\n

\u201cDoing The Odyssey this last year, it felt like my one chance in my life to make a David Lean movie,\u201d he stated. <\/p>\n

Matt added, \u201cThat I was making the last big movie on film that I was ever going to get to make.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
