The Prince of Wales, will undertake his inaugural official visit
\nto Saudi Arabia next month, Kensington Palace has confirmed. The
\nthree-day trip, from Monday 9th to Wednesday 11th February, comes
\nat the request of the UK Government as the two nations mark nearly
\na century of diplomatic relations and expanding commercial
\nlinks.<\/p>\n
A royal spokesman said the visit will focus on \u201cgrowing trade,
\nenergy and investment ties\u201d between the United Kingdom and the
\nKingdom of Saudi Arabia. Details of meetings and events have yet to
\nbe announced.<\/p>\n
Although Prince William has previously visited neighbouring
\ncountries including the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, this will
\nbe his first official engagement in Saudi Arabia. The visit follows
\nhigh-level UK delegations to the Gulf in recent months: Prime
\nMinister Sir Keir Starmer met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin
\nSalman in Riyadh in December 2024, and Chancellor Rachel Reeves led
\na UK trade delegation in October 2025 to advance discussions with
\nthe Gulf Co-operation Council.<\/p>\n
The announcement comes shortly after the Prince and Princess of
\nWales carried out joint engagements in Scotland. The couple visited
\nthe National Curling Academy in Stirling, meeting members of Team
\nGB and Paralympic GB ahead of the Winter Paralympic Games in
\nMilano-Cortina in February and March. Later, they toured Radical
\nWeavers, a charity supporting those affected by trauma through
\ntraditional tartan-weaving, and concluded the day at The
\nGothenburg, a community-run pub in the former mining village of
\nFallon.<\/p>\n
Kensington Palace confirmed that further details of Prince
\nWilliam\u2019s Saudi itinerary will be provided in due course.<\/p>\n
