UK producer Matt Culter has been making playfully psychedelic rave music under the name Lone for nearly two decades. The last Lone album was Always Inside Your Head<\/a><\/em>, and it came out way back in 2021. Since then, though, he’s cranked out singles like “Triton<\/a>,” “Ascension.png<\/a>,” and “Sickly, Sweetly Summer Movie<\/a>.” All of those tracks will appear on Hyperphantasia<\/em>, the new album that Lone just announced. <\/p>\n On Hyperphantasia<\/em>, Lone chases old-school rave sounds, and he brings in outside collaborators like his Greco-Roman labelmates Ell Murphy and Lou Hayter, as well as Spanish singer Bik\u00f4k\u00f4, UK rapper Juga-Naut, and London-via-Hong Kong musician Merry Lamb Lamb. Lone’s new single “Life Spark” embraces the hyper-sweet melodies and hammering thuds of early-’90s hardcore rave, and it’s a whole lot of fun.
