Suniel Shetty<\/strong> who is currently busy promoting his son Ahan Shetty\u2019s second movie Border 2<\/a>, a sequel to his own 1997 blockbuster Border<\/a>, has shared his strong take on the ongoing language debate in Maharashtra.\n<\/p>\n At an event at TiE Mangaluru, Suniel Shetty opened up about his Mangalorean roots and stated that nobody can force him to speak Marathi in Mumbai.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Table of Contents<\/p>\n During the event, Suniel Shetty was talking about his roots as he stated, \u201cI moved out from here when I was very young, not to be something else and not to be someone else.\u201d\n<\/p>\n He continued that despite staying in Mumbai, Mangaluru never left him, \u201cThere is Mangaluru in everything that I do\u201d.\n<\/p>\n He then talked about the ongoing Marathi language debate. He said, \u201cWhen somebody says, what about Marathi? I say, what about Marathi?\u201d\n<\/p>\n Pushing back against the language imposition, \u201cNo, you\u2019ve got to speak Marathi. I said, I don\u2019t have to do that. I will do it when I want to do it. Don\u2019t force me to speak the language.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Suniel Shetty further acknowledged that Mumbai is his karmabhoomi and said, \u201cIf that\u2019s my karmabhoomi, if I learn the language, I will be keeping a lot of people happy\u201d.\n<\/p>\n And continued, \u201cI speak better Marathi than probably most Maharashtrian kids do in Mumbai today.\u201d\n<\/p>\n Check out the clip below: <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n As he is busy promoting Border 2 that stars his son Ahan Shetty as one of the leads, Suniel Shetty stated in an interview with ETimes, \u201cWhen it comes to your children, I think parents are most vulnerable and become a completely different person\u201d.\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n He further warned trolls against taking potshots at his son and stated, \u201cI will not let go. I will take you on.
