UnityTX<\/strong>\u2018s new studio album, \u201cSomewhere, In Between\u2026<\/strong>\u201d will be making its way out on March 13th through Pure Noise Records<\/strong>. The rap metalcore band rolled out a new single from it titled \u201cEnjoy The Show<\/strong>\u201d today, January 21st. Vocalist Jay \u201cShaolin G\u201d Webster<\/strong> commented:<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Enjoy Tha Show<\/strong>\u2018 was crafted to provoke thought on the narratives we embrace as humans, sharing our experiences to foster connection. After much reflection, I aimed to create something that resonated with my audience and mirrored my struggles. Seeking comfort among those who don\u2019t understand the pain of feeling ethnically out of place can be daunting.<\/p>\n At times, the words of strangers would sting so deeply that I\u2019d share them with others. It felt like a natural reaction, yet my friends urged me to rise above it. Ignoring it was harder than I thought, as I was expected to just perform and push through the noise. So, I shifted my approach to simply enjoying the experience.<\/p>\n Unknowingly, I built my life around catering to critics, only to realize that the audience often reacts negatively when you stray from their expectations. This goes beyond music; our society often limits opportunities for those daring to be themselves. It\u2019s frustrating, and I accept that it\u2019s a tragic reality. My identity is shaped by my experiences and environment, and that cannot be changed. Where do we draw the line between empathy and judgment?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Webster<\/strong> also had a bit to say about the mindset the band took up on this record, offering:<\/p>\n \u201cWhen we got into the industry, we had to start playing by the industry rules and not so much by the rules that I had set for us. I was trying my hardest to stick to my code, but it felt like it wasn\u2019t ever going to work. This album is what UnityTX<\/strong> used to be before we got picked up. It\u2019s letting go of all the tension that made us feel like we couldn\u2019t do anything in this space and trying to push past that and reach\u2014not our maximum potential\u2014but start to see where else this can go.
