Def Leppard<\/a> have released the new single \u201cRejoice\u201d ahead of their Las Vegas residency<\/a> beginning February 3rd.<\/p>\n The track is a joyous slab of tried-and-true arena rock, throwing it back to the sound of the band\u2019s seminal album Hysteria<\/em>. Somewhat unconventionally, singer Joe Elliott\u2019s lyrics were the initial inspiration for the song, with guitarist Phil Collen putting together the musical arrangement to match.<\/p>\n Get Def Leppard Tickets Here<\/a><\/p>\n Reflected Elliott in the band\u2019s press release: \u201cI said to Phil [Collen] one day, \u2018I\u2019ve got this idea for a lyric where the narrator is at absolute rock bottom and wants to rise up to a higher level. Do you have a musical piece that might match with that?\u2019 And he said, \u2018As it happens, yes I do.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Related Video<\/p>\n Collen described the song as \u201chard rock for us\u201d and having \u201ca bit more of an \u2018oomph\u2019 than stuff we\u2019ve been doing for a while.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI had this riff, this idea for a song a while ago actually, so when Joe came to me I created this drum loop based with a tribal sound and it fit perfectly with this other arrangement I had,\u201d Collen said. \u201cI sent it to Joe and it was like magic \u2013 he sang straight over the top of it. And that\u2019s how the song was formed. Then we gave it to Ronan [McHugh] who\u2019d done a proper drum loop with different sounds. It all started gelling and just sounded like a powerful chant.\u201d<\/p>\n It the band\u2019s first original tune since 2024 and comes just over a week before Def Leppard kick off their Las Vegas residency at the Caesars Palace.
