From \u201cRight Here Waiting\u201d to \u201cNow and Forever,\u201d Richard Marx<\/a> has built his career on love songs. So, it\u2019s only natural that his latest hit come straight from the heart \u2013 of his significant other, Daisy Fuentes.<\/p>\n Fuentes, a Cuban-born model, actress, and the first Latina MTV VJ, has been married to Marx for a decade; the two celebrated 10 years back in December<\/a>.<\/p>\n In an interview with People<\/a> magazine, Marx gets candid about writing songs with his muse of a wife, crediting her with penning the lyrics to the song \u201cMagic Hour.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI took a long walk one day in my neighborhood,\u201d he started. \u201cI must\u2019ve turned the corner around the block and I had a melody that I couldn\u2019t get out of my head. By the time I came home, I had the whole music<\/a> written, but no lyrics.\u201d<\/p>\n A month later, the singer was still suffering from writer’s block.\u00a0Luckily, his wife wasn’t.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m on tour in Australia, Daisy\u2019s with me and we\u2019re laying on the beach and I\u2019m singing, I\u2019m humming,” he said. “She looks at me and she goes, \u2018Are you f—ing kidding me? You still don\u2019t have words for that? What is wrong with you?”<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cA couple of minutes go by and she goes, \u2018You walked in the door with someone, wasn\u2019t me.\u2019 So I said, \u2018Just keep talking,\u2019 and then I would rhyme it. Then she came up with another line, and I would parrot, and within a couple of hours, we went from the beach to the little restaurant and had a glass of wine and we finished the lyrics right then and there. The best lines are her lines.\u201d<\/p>\n Another aspect of life<\/a> Fuentes has influenced? Recreational drug use. In an interview with The New York Times<\/a>, Marx shared that his wife is the reason he not only drinks martinis, but tried marijuana and mushrooms<\/a> for the first time.<\/p>\n \u201cThe only reason I took a hit was because I needed both hips replaced and was in a lot of pain,\u201d Marx said. \u201cI had definitely been a prude about drugs.
