It received four nominations \u2014 for best picture, cinematography, original song and adapted screenplay.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson\u2019s novella was set in the Pacific Northwest, in early 20<sup>th<\/sup>-century Eastern Washington and Idaho. Bentley, in making the film, made the decision early to shoot \u201cTrain Dreams\u201d in the settings that inspired the author. \u201cThe forests feel a very specific way that they don\u2019t elsewhere,\u201d <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/entertainment\/movies\/how-wa-helped-bring-netflixs-buzzy-adaptation-train-dreams-to-life\/\">he told The Seattle Times last fall,<\/a> \u201cand I wanted to be true to the story.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrain Dreams,\u201d which stars Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones and William H. Macy, is currently streaming on Netflix.
