Thank you to the Academy for honouring our work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Francine Maisler was nominated for Best Casting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u201cThank you to the Academy for this incredible recognition. This is a historic moment for the casting community,\u201d she said in a statement to Spectrum News. \u201cI am honored to be a part of it and humbled to share it with my fellow nominees whose work I deeply admire.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;One Battle After Another&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Teyana Taylor, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress, told Spectrum News in a statement that on Wednesday night, she fell asleep watching \u201cPretty Woman\u201d while thinking about happy endings and how impossible they sometimes feel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u201cI woke up realizing I\u2019ve been living in one that God has been preparing me for my own fairytale ending,\u201d she said. \u201cTo be an Academy Award nominee is beyond anything I ever allowed myself to fully believe was possible. I am so deeply emotional, so humbled, and so grateful for every person who has walked this road with me &amp; honored to be nominated alongside these amazing women in my category. My gratitude is endless.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;The Secret Agent&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Kleber Mendon\u00e7a Filho wrote and directed the film, which was nominated for Best Picture, Best International Film, Best Casting and Best Actor. His wife, Emilie Lesclaux, who was a producer on the film, also received a nomination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u201cToday is clearly a great day with these four nominations. One year ago, I was beginning post-production on \u2018The Secret Agent.\u2019 That\u2019s one hell of a full circle,\u201d said Filho. \u201cMy heartfelt thanks go to our extraordinary cast and crew, to my partner and producer Emilie Lesclaux, and to my dear friend Wagner Moura, with whom I am sharing this intense journey. She previously won for \u201cPoor Things\u201d and \u201cLa La Land.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u201cThank you to the Academy for these nominations and to everyone who poured their hearts into \u2018Bugonia,\u2019\u201d she said in a statement to Spectrum News. \u201cNone of this exists without our director, Yorgos. To be in the company of all of these incredible nominees is a true honor, and I\u2019m deeply thankful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stone, who is also a producer on the film, was also nominated alongside Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Yorgos Lanthimos and Lars Knudsen for Best Picture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u201cThank you to the Academy voters for this recognition, and to the teams at Element, Square Peg, CJ ENM, Fremantle and Focus who were with us every step of the way,\u201d the team said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">Jerskin Fendrix, who was nominated for Original Score, said in a statement, \u201cI love Yorgos and I love my colleagues. Working on the film with my friends was a hugely happy experience, and that\u2019s all down to the trust and support of Yorgos Lanthimos, Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, all the fine folks at Focus Features and the Academy. I raise my mug to them.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;Frankenstein&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Guillermo del Toro\u2019s Mary Shelley\u2019s film adaptation received nine nominations, including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u201cFrankenstein has been a companion &#8211; a guardian angel- to me since childhood. It taught me to see tenderness in darkness and humanity in all those cast aside. To have this film recognized with nine nominations is deeply emotional and personal,\u201d he said in a statement. \u201cThis honor belongs to all the artists who gave themselves completely to this work, in front and behind the camera and to the prodigious heart and mind of one Mary Shelley, a teenager whose story has always reminded the world that in the absence of love, compassion or responsibility monsters are born or absolved. Thank you all for embracing our film so generously.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jacob Elordi received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u201cI have been enamored by actors and this craft of acting for as long as I can remember, remembering. It\u2019s a great pleasure to share a stage with all of my heroes past and present. I must thank my dear friend Guillermo del Toro and my partners, Oscar and Mia, and our whole creative team. I love this creature and I love the movies,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Alexandre Desplat, who is a two-time Oscar-winning composer, was nominated for his work on \u201cFrankenstein\u201d for Best Original Score.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">&#8220;\u00cc thank my peers at the music branch of the Academy for this nomination which goes straight to my heart. And I thank Guillermo del Toro. for taking me and his artistic team through his operatic masterpiece,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h2>&#8216;Train Dreams&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>Adolpho Veloso received a nomination for Best Cinematography.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 40px;\">\u201cIt\u2019s a dream come true. One of those dreams that feels so distant it almost lives in utopia. I still can\u2019t believe it.
