ROMAN CANDLE<\/strong> have released a new music video!<\/p>\n The new music video, for the track Can We Watch Something Happy?<\/strong>, is the fourth single from the band following their 2025 signing to Sumerian<\/strong> Records<\/strong>, and follows on from their previous single,\u00a0Nothing Is Original<\/strong><\/a>, which was released in December last year.\u00a0Written from the perspective of vocalist Piper Ferrari<\/strong>\u2019s childhood self, the song explores intrusive thoughts, compulsive prayer and the guilt that arises from believing one\u2019s own mind is a sin.<\/p>\n Speaking about the theme of the track, Piper<\/strong> shares, \u201cCan We Watch Something Happy?<\/strong> is written from the perspective of my childhood self. I struggled with severe OCD growing up, which was intensified by being raised in a religious household. I wasn\u2019t diagnosed until much later, so for most of my youth I didn\u2019t understand what was happening \u2014 I just remember being scared all the time. There was a constant cycle of praying for the intrusive thoughts to go away, eventually giving in to them, and then praying again for forgiveness. That\u2019s where the repeated \u2018one more time\u2019 comes from. It wasn\u2019t about depression or suicidality; it was about trying to survive this overwhelming fear of thoughts I didn\u2019t want, and then feeling deep guilt because I believed even having those thoughts was a sin.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Watch the official music video for Can We Watch Something Happy? here:<\/strong><\/p>\n
